Our Active Senior program for 55 and older is a lecture with some hands-on training on personal safety. We focus on situational awareness to know what dangers to look for early enough to be able to avoid a potential physical threat. We will go over different options and defensive devices that you can use along with what to say to get bystanders to motivated get involved. In stressful situations, there is a Fight, Flight, or Freeze mindset and our goal is to make sure you don’t Freeze. We will teach you the verbal strategies to de-escalate the situation, how to draw attention to get help if you can’t run away and how to use simple movements to keep yourselves and your loved ones safe.
